Here at FBC, we stand on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the “Good News” of
Scripture. So our Declaration of Faith can not differ from nor can we add to
what the Scriptures already say and are all about. Therefore, we can’t help
but use the Apostles Creed to describe what we believe, not adding or
subtracting from any of it, for it says it best, so we too declare:
We believe in God (Isa 44:6), the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth
(Gen 1:1).
We believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord (Luke 2:11; John 3:16), who
was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Luke 1:35; 27). He
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried (Luke 23:23-
25; 33; 46; 53). He descended to hell (1 Peter 3:18-19; 4:6). The third day He rose
again from the dead (1 Cor 15:4). He ascended to heaven (Luke 24:51) and is
seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty (Heb 1:3). From there He
will come to judge the living and the dead (2 Tim 4:1; John 5:22).
We believe in the Holy Spirit (John 15:26), the holy catholic* church, the
communion of saints (Gal 3:26-29), the forgiveness of sins (Luke 5:20; 7:47-48), the
resurrection of the body (John 6:39), and the life everlasting (John 10:28). Amen.
*that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places.
This is what we believe, hold dear to, and know, as our only source of truth
and salvation. This is our Statement of Faith for First Baptist Church. We,
with all the saints of old, declare that this is what we believe and know as our
only source of truth for time and for all eternity

Hi , My name is Stan Elias and I’m wondering what exactly does this mean ?
I was reading it in your statement on your website.
I looked in the Bible and read the verse, but it’s not the same.
“We believe in the Holy Spirit (John 15:26), the holy catholic* church, the Communion of Saints.
Galatians chapter 3, v 26-29”
I drive by your church on the way home from work every day. Contemplating on stopping in one Sunday.
Thank you for your time and explanation
